LATE ALH. ABDULLAHI JIKA (DIG, CFR, Mni)
Late DIG Abdullahi Jika had a distinguished and meritorious career in the Nigerian Police force over the course of 35 years and extension of service by the then Head of State, General Sani Abacha, till his retirement in 1999. The late DIG was a proud indigene of Mubi, Adamawa State. He was born in June 7, 1942 to the Late Sardauna of Mubi, Alhaji Mana and Fadimatu Mana. He completed both primary and secondary education at the Junior Primary School, Mubi 1950-53 and Provincial Secondary School Yola, 1957-62.
DIG Jika was instrumental to the establishment of the Nigerian Police Academy and also championed the Nigerian Police Cooperative which later morphed into the Nigerian Police Microfinance Bank.
He was also one of the founding Directors who encouraged the establishment of Jaiz Bank.
The Federal Government of Nigeria in recognition of his meritorious service conferred on him Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
He believed in Nigeria and served his country wholeheartedly with utmost dignity and professionalism.
Following his retirement, DIG Jika contributed immensely in different capacities to the development of Nigeria, particularly as it concerns political space and security.
